Changed Plans

I've been working on a tree skirt for the past few weeks, and got partway through it when I realized that the skirt was too small (45" in diameter). What to do? I had already cut the fabric, so enlarging the pattern was not going to work. So I decided to add to the tree skirt to make it bigger in diameter.

Probably not the smartest thing to do, as making a pattern that is repeatable on an arc is really hard. My husband and I spent several hours trying to do geometry and make something that looked nice, and got nowhere. I thought of a new, simpler pattern last night, though, and I'm gonna give that a try this weekend.
